January 16 - March 9

Sharpen your pencils and dust off your fitness shoes -- it's time to gear up for a Brand New U! This eight-week crash course in fitness will give you the boost you need to become more physically active in the new year. And, it will help you see the benefits of regular workouts.

Brand New U kicks off on January 16. Participating is a cinch.

This motivating program will give you the boost you need to become more physically active and will help you see the benefits of tracking your workout efforts. Reach each benchmark quickly by bumping up your activity a little each week. Be sure to try new and different activities to help make it fun. Boise Cascade employees who earn an A+ by completing the eight-week campaign will be entered to win a Nintendo Wii console or a gym membership (up to $250).

But don’t be tardy – sign up for Brand New U by January 13! Contact your wellness champion for more information.

2012 Health Assessment Campaign

Start the New Year off right by taking the 2012 online health assessment and learning more about your current health status. Here’s what you need to do:

1.     Know your numbers. The online health assessment will be most beneficial for you if you enter your current biometric health measurements – blood pressure, total cholesterol (HDL and LDL), glucose and triglycerides.

The more health information you provide the more complete and accurate your results will be. And, because you cannot go back and update your assessment once you’ve submitted your responses, it’s best to wait until you have your personal information in hand before completing the assessment.

2.     Go online and complete the health assessment by April 30, 2012. Once you have your personal health measurements with you, go to the Health Assessment quick link on the right side of the page under Blue Cross Wellness Tools. Or, go to www.BCIdaho.com and select Health Assessment from the Health & Wellness drop down near the top of the home page. (If you have not yet registered on the Blue Cross website, you can find registration instructions on this website under Blue Cross Wellness Tools.)

With just a few easy steps you could be on your way to a better quality of life. Boise Cascade cares about your health and well-being and we encourage you to take this important step toward a healthier lifestyle.

Like every element of the wellness program, the health assessment is 100% secure and confidential – Boise Cascade will only receive a group report to help us make important decisions about health and wellness program priorities. This group report does not contain any personal information; rather it is a pool of all the responses given in the health assessment.

If you have any questions about the assessment, contact your location wellness champion or the wellness program coordinator, Rebecca Kaiser, at RebeccaKaiser@BoiseInc.com or 208 384 7177.
