Type III Fire-Rated Assembly

The International Building Code (IBC) has updated the fire resistance requirements for floor-wall intersections in Type III multifamily construction. These changes provide additional clarity on American Wood Council (AWC) designed DCA3  assemblies that allow for fire-retardant-treated wood (FRTW) walls to include non-FRTW rim board and interior wall materials.
