Investing in the growth and development of our people is a critical part of preparing the next generation to lead Boise Cascade. We have developed three programs that are delivered to new, emerging, middle, and top leadership across the organization.
Designed for front-line leaders across the organization and across functions, the frontline leadership program provides leaders with the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to effectively lead individuals and teams, increase performance, and drive results.
Targeted to new leaders, the program is built around these objectives:
- Gain insight into what it means to be a leader at Boise Cascade.
- Intentionally create an environment that positively impacts individual and team performance.
- Develop individual and team capability by flexing one’s communication style, giving feedback, and driving accountability.
- Increase team effectiveness by working through conflict and building collaboration.
Foundations of Leadership
Our Foundations of Leadership (FOL) program is targeted to mid-level management and high-potential employees with participants nominated by their division leadership.
The cornerstone for leadership development, the design and delivery of this program was developed through a partnership between Boise Cascade and STAC Consulting through Boise State University. This program is designed to equip participants with essential tools and skills that enable them to become more effective in their role, as well provide access to our senior officers who share information about our businesses and strategies.
Our Leadership Excellence course is a customized program, presented in partnership with the prestigious Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business® for the design and delivery. The program is held at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. It is targeted for top leadership across the company. Participants are nominated by leadership and approved by the CEO.
Through the Leadership Excellence program, participants learn practical tools they can take back and implement immediately in their roles. Growth of participants as individuals is immediate and inevitable, but what they take back to their role will positively impact the next generation, the next chapter, of Boise Cascade.
