BMD Chicago partners with local rescue mission

Winter Gloves On SnowBMD associates Lynne Kowalczyk, Jessica Galbreath and Deb Czekala approached Chicago branch manager Hal Warren with the desire to help a local charity and the readiness to take action. Hal was supportive and excited with their enthusiasm to do more for the community and pointed them in the direction of the Rochelle Rescue Mission.

The Rochelle Rescue Mission is a local non-profit organization that provides temporary housing for individuals and families in the community. An informal committee was created and they have donated more than $1,700. They organize themed days and bake sales to raise funds and have also collected much-needed items such as cleaning supplies, paper goods, hats, gloves and coats to donate to the mission. As of the beginning of 2019, the branch has now committed to match all employee donations to be even more effective in their fundraising efforts!

Rochelle Rescue Mission has been very appreciative of the Boise Cascade’s efforts, and they often share their methods of fundraising with other businesses as an example of community leadership and initiative.

Thank you to the Chicago BMD for making an impact!
